Who We Are

Corrina in her garden holding a mug, with her rescue dog Lolly

Heartland Botanicals started the way most honest things do — slowly, and because it mattered. I’m a retired dietitian with a master’s in business and a lifetime spent guarding against an ever-more-adulterated food supply and the toxic load of the world we live in — for humans and animals alike. When my rescue dog Luna was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and conventional options ran out, I dove headfirst into whole-food nutrition, herbal wellness, and low-toxin living — care that looks at the whole animal: what’s feeding the body, what’s draining it, and the conditions illness needs to take hold.

What I came up against was another broken healthcare system failing at its most basic function — to heal the sick and preserve quality of life. Whatever you believe “healthcare” should look like, it isn’t standing back and watching the ones you love suffer with no viable options on the table. I started growing and wildcrafting herbs — first for Luna, then for myself, then for anyone who wanted something more than what the modern healthcare system was offering. No mystery supply chains. Just plants I can vouch for because I watched them grow, harvested them at the right time, and preserved them for optimal potency.

I live in rural Missouri with my rescue dogs, an ever-growing collection of herbs and notebooks, and an endless supply of muddy paw prints. On good days, you’ll find me in the garden.

Small on Purpose

Slow-Grown

Limited by seasons and personal capacity. We’d rather grow less and grow it right.

Science-Grounded

Holistic doesn’t mean guessing. We use evidence-based drying and storage methods.

Pet-Safe Roots

Born from holistic pet care. Many of our herbs serve both human and animal wellness.

Wild-Harvested

Respectful wildcrafting. We take only what’s needed and leave the rest to thrive.
